About the Eldorado
The Dream Becomes a Reality
In the early 1990’s a businessman had the dream to construct a premier golf course in his hometown of Cadillac, MI. The goal was to offer the same pristine conditions and service as other top-notch, Northern Michigan courses, but without the $100 green fee. With a little sweat and determination, the dream became a reality when the Eldorado opened its doors in the summer of 1996.
The bentgrass tees, fairways, and greens, coupled with the lush roughs and flowering wetlands provided for a visually stimulating experience. The layout and upkeep also gave players a course that was very fair and playable.
Eldorado was not created just for the immaculate course though. Supplementing the fantastic conditions was unrivaled service.
Guests of the property quickly began to take note, extending us a 4 3/4 star rating. We also received accolades from major publications, as Golf Digest awarded Eldorado a 4-star rating, and listed us as a Suggested Course to Play.
To this day, Eldorado still offers everything it had originally intended to, and everything it has provided since day one. Keeping with the owner’s promise, this is still done at a sub-$100 green fee too. In fact, we still have the same rates as when the doors opened. Perhaps this is why Great Lakes Golf awarded us a Best Value in the Midwest award.
Guests of Eldorado will quickly learn that everything on the property has a car theme, with particular attention being paid to the Cadillac Eldorado.
All of our holes have automobile inspired names, such as Biarritz, Straight-pipe, & Tailfin. While the tee boxes are Steel, Power, Chrome, Ride, and Comfort. For more course information, be sure to check our our Course page.
When finished with your round, nourishment and libations can be found in our restaurant, the Cadillac Grill. Before dining, be sure to check out the 1959 & 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz’ that are on display in our showroom.
